Rock Im Park and Rock Am Ring, two of Germany's most beloved music festivals, have made the bold decision to remove Pantera from their 2023 lineup due to accusations of a racist act against their frontman Phil Anselmo. Last night the decision was confirmed: "Pantera will not appear in either of the two festivals next year" Let's hope that these highly appreciated events can thrive in a safe space where everyone is welcomed with open arms.

Pantera back on stage after 11 years!
On April 15th, groove metal pioneers Pantera put on their first show in 11 years. The performance took place at the Dallas International Guitar Festival, and the band did not disappoint. Lead singer Phillip Anselmo was in top form, belting out classic songs like ‘Walk’ and ‘Cowboys From Hell.’ The band also covered Black Sabbath's 'Hole In The Sky' and delivered several other hits from their seminal 1994 album, Vulgar Display of Power.
Pantera - The Setlist
/Pantera opened with ‘Hole In The Sky’ and proceeded to deliver a setlist that included some of the greatest hits from their illustrious career. They played classics like ‘This Love’ and ‘Cemetery Gates’ as well as fan favorites such as ‘A New Level’ and ‘Strength Beyond Strength.’ They also showcased some of their deeper cuts like ‘5 Minutes Alone' and 'Slaughtered.'
In addition to playing all these fantastic tracks, Pantera also threw in a few surprises. For instance, they closed out the night with an electrifying rendition of Dimebag Darrell's solo track, ‘Whiskey Road.' Fans were absolutely ecstatic about this surprise inclusion, which served as a fitting tribute to Darrell's legacy.
Finally, Anselmo made sure to thank everyone for attending the show and gave special thanks to those who helped make it happen—specifically mentioning his old friend Vinnie Paul Abbott (Darrell's brother). It was a touching moment that reminded fans why they love Pantera so much—their genuine appreciation for their fans is unparalleled.
It goes without saying that Pantera's return to the stage after 11 years was highly anticipated by fans around the world. And judging by the reaction on social media, it appears that they did not disappoint! Their setlist was filled with classic tracks as well as lesser-known gems that delighted both new and old fans alike. It was clear throughout the night that despite being apart for over a decade, Pantera still has what it takes to rock any crowd into oblivion! For anyone who missed out on this one-of-a-kind show—you'll just have to wait until their next tour announcement! Until then, keep rocking out with your favorite groove metal pioneers!
