Stan Getz & Luiz Bonfá

Stanley Getz (February 2, 1927 – June 6, 1991) was an American jazz saxophonist. Playing primarily the tenor saxophone, Getz was known as The Sound because of his warm, lyrical tone, his prime influence being the wispy, mellow timbre of his idol, Lester Young. The collaboration between jazz virtuosos Stan Getz and Luiz Bonfá produced some of the most iconic and beloved music in history. Getz’s sweet saxophone and Bonfá’s inspirational guitar danced in harmony to create a style of romantic Rio coolness that electrified music fans of all backgrounds across the world. From ‘Desafinado’ to ‘Samba de uma nota só’, the duo proved undeniably with their feisty rhythms this exciting fusion of Brazilian and U.S. jazz could enchant an entire generation. At the rally, we called it the voice of love made reincarnate by two old swingers!
