S.o.s
Behind S.O.S is Sophie Debattista, a 24-year-old Anglo-Maltese singer, songwriter, producer and busker, originally born on the Mediterranean Island of Malta. In 2012 she followed her British roots and moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her love of music. Auditioning for and obtaining a license to busk on the London Underground, was a game changer. Soon, whilst busking at King’s Cross, she was spotted by the Mayor Of London Culture Team and awarded a 3 year scholarship at The Institute Of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) in London which enabled her to study and graduate with a first-class BA (Hons) in Songwriting. An important part of this project was the creation of the S.O.S brand and recording of her 5 track debut EP Edges Of The Mind.
All this played a major role in Sophie's growth within the UK so far and seven years down the line, she regularly performs around the London music circuit and plays many festivals across the country. On top of all that, Sophie works hard at self-funding her music through regular busking on the TFL network and loves that she is given the chance to meet new people in an unconventional way and bring some positivity into their day through her music.
She loves writing, playing & performing her original music. Style is based on electro/pop and includes influences from Halsey, Lorde, Marina, Anne Marie, Jess Glynne and Jorja Smith.. Her songs are generally quirky, energetic and relatable.
